Nigel’s Ironman 70.3 – physically exhausting but so worth it!

October 5, 2018

‘I just couldn’t believe that there are over 40 million slaves in the world today. It really shocked me and I just knew I had to do something about it.’

Meet Nigel Strachan, a Justice and Care supporter from Jersey. When he first got inspired by the work, he had no idea it would lead to taking on the ultimate challenge: an Ironman 70.3!

Swimming, cycling and running for the freedom, Nigel completed his Ironman 70.3 in an incredible 5 hours 58 mins! Having been so touched by the issue of slavery, he also held an event back in May to raise awareness and encourage those he knew to join the fight.

‘We can all do something about it. I’ve been involved with Justice and Care for many years but this seemed like a great opportunity to take on a challenge, whilst raising funds for their work. The Ironman 70.3 was physically exhausting but so worth it! Never have I seen an organisation that is so effective at tackling the problem, fighting slavery on every level from rescue through to rehabilitation and generating systemic change.’

Thank you, Nigel, for your continued support and being a voice for change.

Will you join Nigel in helping support those trapped in slavery? Why not take on your own challenge* today!

*Don’t worry, we aren’t asking you to do a full Ironman, although if you want to…!
